SUBJECT: CATA Summer Conference

Plans for Summer Conference 2014 are now beginning to develop. Please allow this to serve as your “First Call” to this big event to be held at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo! The conference officially begins on Monday, June 23, 2014, with pre-conference activity beginning on Sunday, June 22, 2014.

There are a couple of ways to submit your registration and CATA dues. You can submit everything electronically by following the procedures outlined on our online registration (no longer available). If you prefer to handle a “hard copy” of the forms and write on them, you can download the Conference Registration and CATA Dues form, fill them out and send them in with your purchase order, check or credit card information (FAX is okay with credit card or purchase order). Please keep a copy for your records. We strongly suggest that you pre-register for Summer Conference – waiting in line will only cut in on your ability to fully enjoy the Sunday evening reception!

CATA Governing Board:  Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., CATA Governing Board will meet in Erhart Agriculture 10-223, for their semi-annual meeting.

New Teacher Orientation:  University Teacher Educators and CATA President, Cindy Rohde are planning an exciting and rewarding orientation program for all individuals who have not previously particpated in Summer Conference on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.  They will meet with the new teachers in Erhart Agriculture 10-220.

Conference Registration:  Registration will be conducted at the Arboretum - OH Unit on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., then again on Monday morning from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m. outside the Performing Arts Center.  The first General Assembly will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.  Late registration will be handled in the Conference Operations Office in Erhart Agriculture 10-241.

Farm Show and Idea Show:  Farm Shop - Building 9 will once again be the location for the Farm Show and Idea Show on Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:45 p.m.

Family BBQ:  The Family BBQ on Tuesday will be at Cuesta Park again this year.  The fun starts at 4:45 p.m. with softball at Cal Poly, and volleyball, horshoes, and children's games at Cuesta Park, with dinner following at 6:30 p.m.

The Curricular Code Committee meetings are to Tuesday, June 23. Coaches and others interested in the “A" list contests should plan to meet that morning from 7:45 to 9:45 a.m.

The Central Region is diligently working on plans for an outstanding evening at the Annual Banquet. It will once again be held at the Madonna Inn Expo Hall, so buy your ticket(s) early to guarantee a seat.

We look forward to seeing you in June!
